Life Increasing Light
Very dear saintly friends; Not long ago, I went to Konya to visit Em. Assist. Assoc. Prof. Dr. A. Selâhaddin Hidâyetoğlu Çelebi, although he was seriously ill, he graciously came to Huzûr-ı Pîr with me. While they were praying in front of the chest of Çelebi Hüsâmeddin, they asked me to write an article about Çelebi Hüsâmeddin in such a sincere and sincere way that I was at a loss for what to say. The Junaid of the time, the Bâyazid of the time, the sword of the religion of truth, the sword of the religion of truth, the great Mevlânâ lover, unique in beauty, the great Mevlânâ lover, Hz. What could your poor person possibly have to say about this great person whom our Pir himself had praised; this proposal that made my heart tremble was made by A. Selâhaddin Çelebi, a descendant of the great Arif Çelebi, in front of Çelebi Hüsâmeddin's sarcophagus in Huzûr-ı Pir. After a short silence, I was able to nervously say, "Yes, sir." Seeing the fakir's anxiety, our Selâhaddin Çelebi said, "Don't be afraid, Yâ Hû; the pearls are already ready, you just have to string them one by one.

The sword of truth and religion, the Bâyazid of the century, the Junaid of the time, the trustee of the hearts, the son of Muhammad, the son of Hasan of Urmia, known as Ahî-Turkoğlu, Çelebi Hüsameddin Hazretleri's lineage reaches to Tâj-ul- Arifin Abul-Vefâ-ı Kûrdî who died in Bagdad in 1107. His grandfathers. They migrated from Urmia to Anatolia and settled in Konya. His father, Ahi Muhammad, was the head of the Ahi organization in and around Konya, hence his name "Ahi-Turk". For this reason. Çelebi Hüsameddin Hazretleri was called Ahî-Türkoğlu. His Holiness Çelebi Hüsameddin lost his father when he was a child, and the ahis of Konya, who practiced futüvvet, placed him on his father's post. Çelebi Hüsâmeddin Hazretleri, who had a sincere love for the Prophet Mevlana in those days, attended his lectures at the madrasah whenever he had the opportunity, and later attended his sema and safa assemblies, entered the service of the Prophet Mevlana together with all the ahis and his friends when he reached the age of puberty, learned from the Prophet Shams and Salâhaddin, and after the death of Sheikh Salâhaddin, he became a close friend and caliph of the Prophet Mevlana. He did not stop there, he laid the share of the Ahi organization in Konya, including his own property, in front of Hz. Mevlana, and asked that whatever he had, whatever he did not have, be spent on Hz. Mevlana's relatives and his disciples who were in need. From then on, Çelebi Hüsameddin's mansion in the Meram vineyards of Konya became a place of administration for the dervishes of Hz. Mevlana. Hz. Mevlana sent everything he had to Çelebi and put Çelebi in charge of this administration. Çelebi Hüsameddin Hazretleri, who had a good education in his youth, was also a teacher at several high madrasahs in Konya. After he was connected to the chain of love and heart of Hz. Mevlana and became a strong link of this chain, he was cooked under his spiritual upbringing and became "Hâmil-i esrarı and haznedâr-ı maârifi". Hz. Mevlânâ praised him with various qualities such as the light of Hâle, the light of Hakk, the polish of the soul, the generous Hüsameddin, the hüsâmı of religion and heart, and gave this precious friend the most important place in his heart after Hz. Şems and Salâhaddin. So much so that Hazrat Mawlânâ would not go anywhere without him, would not speak or cheer up without him. This time Shams was manifested through Çelebi Hüsameddin Hazretleri. Hazrat Mevlana found and saw all his loved ones in him, in his proximity. One day, while he was sitting in the vineyard of Çelebi Hüsameddin, he mentioned Hazrat Shams to those around him and praised him. When the muderris Bedreddin, who was present in the assembly, expressed his regret that he could not see Hazrat Shams, Hazrat Mevlânâ, referring to Çelebi Hüsâmeddin, said, "If you could not reach Shams, you have reached such a person, you have reached such a person that there are hundreds of thousands of Shams hanging on every strand of your hair..." and he became excited and started semâ'a.
However, in the presence of His Holiness Çelebi Hüsameddin, the Prophet Mevlânâ, who was at ease, found comfort, felt peace, was exhilarated, and talked about the science of truth, chose His Holiness Çelebi Hüsameddin as his companion and caliph after Shaykh Salâhaddin, and said to his friends: Bow down to him, lower your wings to the ground in front of him as if you are helpless! Fulfill all his commands; plant his love in the very core of your soul. He is the fountain of mercy, the light of Allah.
In his work Ibtidâ-Nâma, Hadrat Sultan Walid says the following on the subject: All the friends became jugs for the water of his grace. They were liberated from the despicable acts they had done to Shams and Shaykh Salâhaddin, and they became decent. They obeyed without envy. Not a single one of that group withdrew his head; every one of them accepted eagerly. Upon the command of His Eminence, all the friends obeyed Çelebi Hüsameddin and valued and loved him.
Çelebi Hüsameddin Hazretleri, who was in the honorable conversation of Hz. Mevlana for fifteen years, sat on the post of Hz. Pir in the office of irşad for ten years after Mevlana; the sole reason for the writing of the Mesnevi was the life, soul, and words of this luminary of knowledge. In the first volume of the Masnavi, our Prophet pointed to Hüsameddin Çelebi and said the following. I have tried and endeavored to extend and expand this versified Masnavi, which contains stories that are surprising and rare to be told, good and great sayings, pearls of guidance, the path of the ascetics, less in words and more in meaning, with the wish of the person I rely on and trust, the person who dominates my body like a spirit. That person is the Husâm of the religion of Hakk. May Allah be pleased with him. Our Prophet, who took Hüsâmeddin Çelebi as his interlocutor while singing the Mesnevî, called the Mesnevî-i Şerife Hüsâmi-nâme. The most beautiful souvenir of the heavenly days of love and affection that Mevlana spent with Çelebi Hüsâmeddin is undoubtedly Mesnevî-i Şerîf. According to the story, Çelebi Hüsâmeddin saw that those who were devoted to Hz. Mevlânâ were constantly reading Hakîm Senâ'i's Hadîka (525/1131) and Feridüddin-i Attar's Mantuku't- Tayr (627 /1230), and he was not pleased with this situation. One night, when he was alone with Hazrat Mawlânâ, he mentioned this situation that bothered him and said that if he wrote a similar book, the people would only be occupied with the words of Hazrat Mawlânâ, that his Dîvân had grown considerably with new ghazals, that it was time to write a book showing the paths, truths and subtleties of Sufism like Senâ'i's and Attar's works, and that from now on it would be up to the grace and mercy of Hüdavendigâr. Upon this, Hz. Mevlânâ immediately took out a volume from his blessed turban explaining all the secrets, both universal and particular, and handed it to Çelebi Hüsâmeddin. On it were written the first eighteen couplets at the beginning of the Masnavi-i Sharif.
When Mevlana handed the first eighteen couplets to Çelebi Hüsâmeddin, he said that if you write the rest, I will sing them. His Holiness Çelebi Hüsâmeddin willingly accepted this good news. Hz. Mevlana said, "Allah, the Merciful and Compassionate, the knowledgeable of the realm of the unseen and the witnessed, had inspired it to my heart from the unseen realm before this idea came to your blessed heart to write such a book in verse and to pierce the pearls of bright meaning. Now come, fly as high as you can in the heights of the firmament of your own devotion, and walk towards the mi'râj of truths by following Muhammad completely, and our inner world will follow your harmony, come into motion, and begin the words of these meanings. Thus, the writing of Mesnawî-i 'Sharif began. Eflâki, in his account of the writing and completion of the Masnavi, says the following: His Holiness Mevlânâ continued to recite the Masnavi at all times, sitting in the baths, standing, sitting still and in motion, while performing Semâ in excitement under the charm of Çelebi Hüsâmeddin, the sultan of noble people. Sometimes it would be so that he would dictate it one after the other, starting in the evening until dawn. Çelebi Hüsâmeddin would write it down quickly, and after writing it down, he would read it aloud to Mawlânâ. When the volume was completed, Çelebi Hüsâmeddin would review the couplets, make the necessary corrections and read them to Mawlânâ again.
Again, at the end of a study that lasted until the morning, Mawlana, looking at the tired face of Hüsâmeddin Çeleb with great compassion, said the following Mesnevi couplets:
It is morning again. O Allah, who prepares and protects the mornings, may you apologize to Hüsâmeddin Çeleb, who has served us so much. May the 'cân' of 'Akl-ı Küll' also apologize. The light of the morning shone. We, too, have been enlightened and enlightened by Your light, and we are drinking Your mansur wine in this morning time. [Clt.1.1807]
It was as if Allah Almighty had created Çelebi Hüsâmeddin for the dictation of this blessed book and had ordained this auspicious task for him. As a matter of fact, Hazrat Mawlana has said in various parts of his Masnavi:
O Hüsâmeddin, the light of Hakk! My purpose of this Masnavi is you. The Masnavi is completely yours with its branches, trunk and root. You have accepted it. When something is accepted by the sultans, it cannot be rejected. My purpose of the Masnavi is your secret. My purpose in creating it is to hear your voice. I think your voice is the voice of Hakk.[C\t.4.754-759] O Hüsâmeddin! It is from us to bring letters and words together to form shapes and forms, and it is from you to give them a soul. No, I misspoke, this one's yours and that one's yours. [Clt.4.3826]
O Hüsâmeddin, the lover of Hakk, you are such a superior person that the Masnavi has been illuminated by your light and has become so bright that it has surpassed even the moon. O great person from whom many things are expected, Allah knows how far your patronage and kindness will take this Masnavi. You have tied the neck of this Masnavi and you are pulling it wherever you know. The Masnavi is walking, but the one who is pulling it is invisible. It is not visible, but not to everyone, not to those with closed eyes. Since you caused the Masnavi to begin, then if it increases, if it gets longer, you will increase and extend it. If this is what you want, then of course this is what Allah wants. For Allah fulfills the desires of the owners of piety. 1 [Clt.4.1-6]
O Hüsâmedin, your spiritual superiority has long surpassed the level that minds can reach. The mind is incapable of understanding you. O Hüsâmeddin, you are the light of Hakk, therefore you attract the souls of those who fall on the path of Hakk with Masnavi and take them to Hakk. [Clt.5.15-23]
While presenting the sixth volume of the Masnavi to Hüsâmeddin Çeleb, Hz. Mevlana, as if pointing to these days from centuries ago, said the following:
With these six volumes of the Masnavi, spread light in the six directions of the world, so that even those who do not walk around it and those who do not know about the Masnavi may receive light from it. Let them be enlightened with the Masnavi. O Hüsâmeddin, you are a sun of meaning, that is why I called you 'Ziya'. These two words 'Hüsam and Ziya' are your qualities. [Clt.4.16]
According to Hz. Mevlânâ, it is Çelebi Hüsâmeddin who sucks out the milk of meanings from the breast of truths. Again in his Masnavi, he points to this meaning as follows. This word is milk in the breast of life. It does not flow well unless there is a sucker. If the listener is thirsty and seeking, the preacher will speak even if he is dead. If the listener is a newcomer and not weary, even the mute will be a nightingale. When a non-Muslim enters my door, the people of the harem go behind the curtains and hide. When a harmless and intimate person comes, the intimates who hide themselves open the veil on their faces. It is done for the eye that sees with all that is beautiful, pleasant and befitting. How is it possible that the sounds of the chenginzir (the thinnest) and the bam (the thickest) are sung for the deaf ear? Allah did not make musk fragrant in vain. He created it for the one who smells, not for the one who does not smell.
The Masnavi, which was started to be written between 1259-1261 as a result of a very careful work with such a unique love of heart, was completed between (1264-1268). Sahih Ahmed Dede (1742-1813), in his work Mecmûatü't Tevârihi'l Mevleviyye, states that Hz. Mevlana was 55 and Çelebi Hüsâmeddin Hazretleri was 37 years old when Mesnevi-i Şerif was started to be written. Hüsâmeddin Çelebi Hüsâmeddin Çelebi dictated the Mesnevî-i Şerif, which is in the Mevlânâ Museum in Konya, in 1278, exactly five years after the passing of Hz. Mevlânâ, to Muhammad, son of Abdullah, a calligrapher from Konya. With this great service, he was instrumental in ensuring that the Masnavi would reach the lovers of Hakk in the right way even after centuries.
According to Aflâqî, one day Muîneddin Parvane organized a big meeting and invited all the great and prominent people of the country. In this meeting, where Çelebi Hüsâmeddin was not present, His Holiness Mevlânâ did not start to spread the meanings and did not say a word. Pervane understood the situation with his foresight and said to himself: It is absolutely necessary to call Çelebi and asked permission from His Holiness Mevlânâ to bring Çelebi from the vineyard. His Holiness Mevlânâ said, "It would be good with great pleasure, because he is the one who sucks the milk of meanings from the breast of truths. He said. After a short time, when His Eminence Çelebi arrived with all his friends, Pervane ran to greet them and kissed Çelebi's hand several times and placed it on his head. When Hazrat Mevlana saw Çelebi Hüsâmeddin, he immediately got up from his seat and said to him: "Hello, my dear, my beloved, my faith, my Junayd, my light, my master, the beloved of God, the beloved of the Prophets. Çelebi, in turn, bowed down to the ground before His Holiness Mevlana and made supplications. Pervâne wondered if Çelebi Hüsâmeddin had these attributes that Mevlânâ had mentioned. Or is Mawlânâna making a monopolization? Çelebi immediately grabbed Pervâne's hand and said to him: Muîneddin! Even if I do not have these attributes, since His Holiness Mevlânâ said so, they are so, and I have them a hundred times more than what he said. He is able to give existence to that state which is immediately absent, to increase it in the soul of the disciple, and to guide the person to guidance and perfection with an eye of grace.
Sipehsâlâr, who was in the honorable service of the Prophet for forty years, states in his treatise that Mawlana never complimented any of his caliphs as much as he complimented Çelebi Hüsâmeddin and that those who saw him would have thought that Mawlana was his disciple. Indeed, in the "Masnavi" dibacada, our Prophet addressed Çelebi Hüsâmeddin as "My master, my strength, my assurance, the dominator of my body like a spirit, the sustenance of my today and the sustenance of my tomorrow. The great and the most eminent of the arifs, the imam of the people of hidâyet and yakîn, the one who reaches the cries of the people, the trustee of the hearts and minds, the trustee of God among His people, the most distinguished among His creatures, the chosen one in His wills to His Prophet and in His secrets in His pure heart, the key to the treasures of the Throne, the trustee of the treasures of the earth, the owner of virtues, the hüsâmı of the religion of the heart, Çelebi Hüsâmeddin Hazretleri has valued and exalted him with unparalleled praise. These words in the dibaj of the Masnavi can astonish and bewilder those who are ignorant of the path of love even today, centuries later.
It is possible to see very clearly in the letters written by the blessed hands of our Prophet Pir, the closeness he showed to Çelebi Hüsâmeddin Hazretleri and the very high value he gave.
In his letters, each sentence, each line of which makes our hearts tremble and is an unprecedented example of love, affection, respect, devotion, loyalty, he commemorates his dear friend with the highest authorities with the feelings reflected from his heart by referring to Çelebi Hüsâmeddin Hazretleri with high qualities such as Sheikh of Sheikhs, Husâm of Religion, the trustee of hearts, the great of sheikhs, Jüneydi of the time, Bayazid of the time, glorified with truths, the sun of truths, the imam of guidance.
In a letter he wrote to Mecdeddin (Atabek), our Prophet Mevlânâ praised Çelebi Hüsâmeddin by saying, "Hüsâmeddin, the great of the great, the most God-fearing, the most God-fearing, the one who knows the truth, the surety of the unseen, the Jüneyd of time, the guardian of God," and in another letter he wrote: The new moon is beautiful, charming, it is pointed at, but the full moon is something else. The devotion of this supplicant to the master of Sheikhs and Abdal, the surety of hearts, the Junaid of the time, i.e. Hüsâmeddin, may Allah perpetuate his blessings, is known to you, and he once again affirmed and revealed his devotion to Çelebi Hüsâmeddin in the clearest way with unique praises.
What does the laughing rose do if it does not laugh? What does he do if he binds a flag with musk and does not glorify it? In the letter they wrote to His Eminence Çelebi Hüsâmeddin, beginning with the couplet: What does the one whom Almighty God has chosen, whom He has clothed in the garment of His attributes of mercy and grace, on whose head He has placed the crown of 'We have purposely chosen and exalted them above the worlds', do if He does not caress and nurture the servant and nourish and develop the little ones? May Allah perpetuate His shadow over the worlds, and a hundred times, whatever that self-serviceable being thinks is my last thought as well, with the people as witnesses and the Creator. I have said that whatever He commands, whatever He says is my word. Allah wanted to fulfill our wishes for life, so He arranged His blessed form. Whatever wish of our souls, no doubt, shines from the words and signs of Hüsâmeddin, who is to be served. May Allah not prevent him from being served. Whether that wish comes true in appearance or not, that is the way it is. Whatever you say, if someone says, "Mawlana did not say this, Çelebi said this," he is wrong, he has made a mistake, he has committed a crime.
As can be seen, in this letter our Pir explains that there is no difference between him and Çelebi Hüsâmeddin Hazretleri and that their words are the same as their essence, and in the rest of the letter he expresses his longing for Çelebi Hüsâmeddin Hazretleri; After thousands of greetings and thankfulness, know that: My desire to see you increases day by day. I am praying for your blessedness; I am lingering with your blessing, he says in the most amorous way that he misses his cat very much and desires to meet him. In Dîvân-ı Kebir, there is a ghazal beginning with the couplet; What does the rose that is always laughing do when it is not laughing? There is a ghazal beginning with the couplet. Perhaps the Prophet Mevlânâ addressed his heart friend with the first couplet of this ghazal. The ghazal is summarized as follows:
What does a rose that is always laughing not laugh?
What does he do if he does not unfurl his musky leaf that emits fragrance like a leaf?
What does the laughing pomegranate do when it cracks open its mouth and does not fit into its skin?
When the poor shadow sees the light of the sun, what does it do but prostrate?
When the lover smells the fragrance of his beloved's shirt, what does he do but tear his own shirt?
My beloved, if you pity me and pass by my grave, what will my dead body do if not resurrect?
In another letter written to His Holiness Çelebi Hüsâmeddin, our Prophet started with the couplets, "A peace like the full moon of the sublime; A peace that smells like a fresh rose... A peace that emits fragrances like the sunflower... A sweet, pleasant peace like fresh dates. It began with the couplets. This letter, which is a unique example in terms of expressing his longing for Çelebi Hüsâmeddin Hazretleri, expressing it in words, style, eloquence, sincerity, is as follows in summary:
God Almighty knows the hidden things; and I know that in accordance with the Promise, "God bears witness," God bears witness to everything when the time comes, even if I do not bear witness to it; and He bears witness morning and evening, all the time, to the hearing, grace-filled ear of the Holy One of Truth and Religion; His witnessing never ceases. May Allah perpetuate his blessings and benefit the worlds with the length of his life and the greatness of his work. He is a wise and vigilant man, mature in his words, in his deeds, in his state, in his knowledge, and in his servitude. He is a bright sensitizer, alert in his mind. He is the heat of kindness and mercy, the eternal light that shines. Exalted, gracious, present, present, eternal, belonging to God, the One. He is to me both a son and a father; both a light and an eye; both a sight and a vision. I send my greetings, my du'a to the wind; I send my longing, my longing to see, into the hand of the morning wind and send it with it; I offer it with it. I swear by Allah that His greatness, His sublimity, His supremacy will not fit even in the jar of the sky; the words I will offer, the writings I will write about my longing will not fit in the narration of my fingers.
After many more heartwarming words, our Prophet explains the purpose of his letter to Çelebi Hüsameddin Hazretleri, again expressing his devotion to this dear friend, as follows These days, as you may have heard, one of the righteous people is organizing an invitation. Because of the kindness and gentleness of your saintly temperament, you avoid being present at invitations, but I do not want to attend this invitation without your blessed presence. It is said, 'There is no prayer without peace of heart'.
What an elegant, naive letter, showing that there are no limits to love, respect, loyalty, affection and devotion. Even after hundreds of years, you feel and are mesmerized by the feelings of friendship reflected from the heart in every word. It is said that there is no prayer without peace of mind. What can a person say beyond these words to show his love, respect and loyalty to his friend?
Our Prophet finds all these praises insufficient, and look what he says: O generous Hüsameddin, the heavens and the elements have not given birth to a spiritual sultan like you. Since there is no one like you, you rarely come to the realm of the soul and the realm of the heart. That is why both the heart and the soul cannot do anything against your coming and remain ashamed. Many times, I have talked about the perfect people and wise men and women of the past. I praised them, but you were always present in all my praises. My intention in those praises was always you. In fact, I have always praised you. None of those praises are worthy of you. These praises are ashamed of you. But the poor offers whatever he has. Allah accepts it. Allah tolerates the helplessness of His humble servant. O Hüsameddin, whose name is beautiful, I have briefly mentioned you with these praises. I have praised you briefly. This brief praise is known to the bird and the fish. I praised you secretly and briefly, so that the envious people would not touch you, so that they would not be able to gnash their teeth against you.
Çelebi Hüsameddin Hazretleri, who was honored with this sublime friendship by being the recipient of such high praise, love and affection of our Prophet, sat on the Prophet's post for ten years after Hz. Mevlânâ, illuminating the darkness and scattering ledunnî pearls around him. In 683, on the twelfth Wednesday of the month of Sha'ban, another star disappeared from the celestial sky, and like every mortal, this great friend also attained his final rest. Undoubtedly, as long as the world lasts, the loyalty, love and affection of Çelebi Hüsameddin Hazretleri along with Hz. Mevlânâ, and his high services will live forever as a spiritual crown on the heads of the lovers of Hakk.
We learn the details of the vuslat of this sultan of hearts as follows.
One day, when Çelebi Hazretleri, together with all Mevlânâ's lovers, was in great pleasure and joy with Semâ and conversation in his vineyard called Hüman in Meram, someone from Konya came to inform him that the flame on the dome of the mausoleum had fallen. This news had a very bad effect on Çeleb. Suddenly all his joy fled and he became sad. His grief also affected his friends and made them cry. After a while, he asks them to count how many years have passed since the Sheikh's passing. They replied that ten years had passed, the eleventh year. Çelebi's mood changed completely, he shuddered, he said, take me home, the cup of life is full, the time of migration is near. They take him home, and after lying ill for a few days, on the day the fallen world is replaced, he reaches his final resting place.
The funeral prayer of this precious sultan of the heart, who was always circumambulating around the Ka'ba of the Lovers, was led by Sultan Veled. There is a cist made of bricks and plastered with plaster on the merkad of Çelebi Hüsâmmeddin Hazretleri, who was lined up in front of our Prophet. At the head of the sarcophagus, in the front and on the marble slab fixed to the sarcophagus with plaster, there is an Arabic inscription in sülüs script. The Turkish is as follows: This is the mausoleum of the sheikh of sheikhs, the one who is followed by the pious, the imam of hidâyah and yakiyn, the key to the treasures of heaven, the treasurer of the treasures of the earth, the Cüneydi of the time, the Bâyazid of the era, the owner of virtues, the light of God, the son of Hasan, the son of Muhammad, the son of Muhammad, known as Ahî Turk. May God be pleased with him and them. He was originally from Urumani and belonged to the sheikh who said, "I went to bed as a Kurd and woke up as an Arab. May God bless his soul, he passed away on the twelfth Wednesday of the twelfth month of Sha'ban in the year six hundred and eighty-three. The lines in this seven-line inscription are taken from the words of the Prophet Mevlana about Çelebi Hazretleri in the Mesnevi dibaj. It is believed to have been prepared by His Holiness Sultan Veled. Sipehsâlâr, the commander of hearts, who was in the service and conversation of Hz. Mevlâna for forty years with sincerity, states the value of Çelebi Hüsâmeddin Hazretleri in his Risâle with the following sentences: In truth, Çelebi Hüsameddin was the complete manifestation of our Hadrat Hüdâvendigâr, and the entire Masnavi-i Sharif was written at his request. If all the people of tawhid and love thanked Çelebi Hüsameddin until the end of time for the writing of the Masnavi that was bestowed upon them, they would not be able to repay their debt of gratitude. Our Prophet also said, O Hüsameddin, the light of Hakk, the Masnavi has thousands of thanks to you. Masnavi has opened its hands to pray to you and to thank you. He said. [Clt.4.8]
As Sipahsalar says, we, the humble servants, can neither pay our debt of gratitude to this precious sultan of the heart, to whom even the Masnavi opens his hand and thanks for his service, nor can we speak, sing, pen and write about the divine love of these two blessed guardians until doomsday.
