Our Dear Friends of the Heart,
On Monday, May 19, 2025, we came together at Şefik Can International Mevlânâ Education and Culture Foundation under the title of "Vefâ Talks" in an assembly adorned with elegance and meaning. We commemorated Münevver Ayaşlı, a writer and thinker of heart and wisdom, with a reverence and deep affection, the meaning of which is passed from tongue to tongue and from heart to heart.
Münevver Ayaşlı was a person of meaning who represented wisdom not only through her writings but also through her life, whose words directly addressed the heart. She was not a name that remains in memories; she was an elegant figure who transferred the legacy of a civilization's ideas and manners to the present with the stance she carried. In his pen, history would not be silent, decency would not bend and meaning would not diminish.
In the panel discussions that started with the opening speech of our esteemed Foundation President Mrs. Hayat Nur Artıran and took place in two sessions; our professors İbrahim Ayaşlı, Dr. Hatice Yıldız, Belkıs İbrahimhakkıoğlu, Dursun Gürlek, Mehmet Nuri Yardım and Beşir Ayvazoğlu presented Münevver Ayaşlı's elegant personality kneaded with science, her world of thought nourished by Sufism and her spiritual heritage in a deep contemplation.
In the music section of the program, we were accompanied by a concert performed by Neyzen Rıfat Varol, who grew up in the kudema line of our traditional music and contributed to our lyrical heritage with his melodies. The program was concluded with the recitation of the Holy Qur'ân al-kerîm full of awe and compassion by Hâfiz Davut Şensoy, the Chief Muezzin of Eyüp Sultan Mosque, and his prayer.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed professors and all our listeners who honored this exceptional assembly with their presence and contributions.
